MY UNIVERSITY DAYS ARE NUMBERED

kimiberr and I are getting to defend our short feature film thesis after all the drama last term. We were supposed to be done by last term, but a lot of things came up. Good thing that Sir Valerio has been nothing but supportive! Also, I just realized, today was my last regular school Monday. EVER. How weird is that? (Unless, of course, I decide to go through with the NYU Tisch School plan. I'm not sure what I want yet.) But for now, let me feel nostalgia for my last regular school week in good old De La Salle University. I can't wait to defend our thesis, I want it done and over with!

Excited! It's always very gratifying to be able to put your name after the words "directed by" after all the months of work. I'm also pretty happy about the scoring, because that's something I'm very particular about. Two amazing musicians gave us permission to use their music in our film.
The girl is Meso Meso, and she's a Japanese musician who makes wonderful folk ambient tunes, her voice is intriguing, and just flat-out beautiful. Her music sounds like something out of a reverie inside a quiet afternoon's nap, something I want to close my eyes to and get lost in. In this video, she is backed up by Shugo Tokumaru, who is also an amazing solo artist/ guitarist. Meso Meso was so wonderful about letting us use her songs in our film, despite the language barrier. Arigatou~
Rizza Cabrera writes and sings her own songs, ones with smart lyrics, and sung with a voice that soars from gloomy to absolutely sanguine proportions. Girl should be a recording star! She was also super accommodating with allowing us to use this song for the end part of our film. I love the Internet so much sometimes - how it's so easy to share and collaborate with artists. It's such a wonderful thing!
I can't wait for graduation/ summer: beach trips with friends, then Bangkok, and Singapore! It's going to be a good one. Also, the 5x10 Arashi DVD is arriving tomorrow right?
