Sinulog 2010!
Jan. 26th, 2011 06:41 amFlew to Cebu with a plane-load of friends (was it me, or was everyone from Manila in Cebu?) for Sinulog, an annual festival honoring the child Jesus, or better known as Santo Niño. It lasts for nine days, and is one of many festivals in the Philippines. But no doubts about it, Sinulog is definitely the festival. There's usually a huge street party, parades, all-around celebration, great food, and you betcha: horrible traffic!!! Oh well.
But it's a weekend not to miss in the Philippine calendar and I'm glad we all decided to fly to Cebu and partake in this year's celebrations! Such a beautiful island, with beautiful and warm locals!
The rain won't stop us! Ulan lang pala eh! (Wag lang turbulent sa eroplano hahaha)

Cebu at night

Street parade!

Those are some funky Rodarte-ish tights, yeah?

The boys barging into the parade, tsk tsk

It was crazy. We were all wet from the rain and sweat, and our feet were all drenched in mud. Good times...I think

Of course they had to have "native" hats. Since we're in the province hahaha

Headed out for some dancing and drinks at Vudu. Full-house!

Messy side table @ hotel whoops

WHAT IS A TRIP TO VISAYAS WITHOUT BARBECUE CHICKEN? INVALID, THAT'S WHAT

Lots of puso, which is rice wrapped in banana leaves. So good with barbecue chicken!

Great lunch before hitting the beach!

WE WILL BE BACK, CEBU. MARK OUR WORDS.
