I kiss you and I know
Dec. 24th, 2009 02:52 amFinally, a Hellogoodbye session on Daytrotter! They played my favorite cheesy song: Oh, It Is Love. I remember singing this out loud in the car with Kuku, on a random errand day. He says that he likes this kind of music once in awhile. That's because he's a ham inside, he just doesn't like to admit it.
Of course, the session is accompanied by another great write-up by Sean Moeller. He keeps getting better at it. Some people say that what he writes is usually thoughtless meandering and commentary on music, which doesn't need to be explained or articulated in words. I find that Moeller's writing, while not necessary, contributes another dimension to the music; it's something you can enjoy while listening to the songs.

"The raw and analog way that this session was taped - all live in one room as we always do - gives the songs so much power and pulse, letting them explain themselves in functioning degrees and in personable sensations that aren't going to ever get up and walk away from you. They are feelings and innate melodies that feel so timeless - coupled with thoughts that Kline isn't the only one worried about: of bad dreams, losing love in a heartbeat and finding the greatest comfort in all of the little things that we take for granted when we're silly with of petty concerns and worries - that they could already be a part of us. And yet, they sound so ambitious and spirited at the same time, offering us a brand new way of dealing with domestic bliss, domestic disappointment and all of the many different calibrations in between, setting all of these variants to their different colors and their many different tempos and needs. Hellogoodbye is poised to explain us to us and they plan to do it in a way that we'll not forget. It will make our perceptions and our trivialities relevant, feeling as if they're here for a reason. Our fears and our joys - they'll make sure - will be hemmed in harmonies."

A graphic novel fix is so expensive! But I love it.
This one is my recent favorite, really great to read after reading the Fables series.

Grab a copy! (Berber, that means you!)
Friends, say hello to my new baby.
Isn't she a beauty? She's officially named Annie, as in Annie Hall. =D

It's a beautiful machine, but my old Mac was still working pretty fine until that annoying bimbo spilled Bacardi on it.
But I shall not complain...

...I have a new toy after all!
I just have one complaint: the screen is super glossy! I was scared to my wits one night when I suddenly saw a face appear on the screen. Then I realized, it was just my reflection. (In retrospect, that doesn't really compliment me, now does it.)

A little bit of randomness before I hit the sack. Feeling the insomnia kicking in after a few days of having no work and school. It's such a bad feeling really. Either that, or I've just been drinking too much. Hey, it's the holidays! Calories and alcohol, and all manner of excess, is the norm!
This kind of makes my eyes bleed (and my stomach cry out from mercy.) Strawberry Santa hats!
Happy Holidays, lovers.
