Bipolar and ordinary

nunuuuI had such an ordinary, but nonetheless satisfying, day. Woke up early to head to my hairstylist's with my mom for our salon date, and got my blonde highlights corrected. They're now non-orange and just the way I like it. Hair that looks like it got beer-bleached (read: orangey) is just...just...NO. Also, got my nails done in pussy red. Appalling name for a pretty shade. Pussy pink, maybe, but pussy red just conjures unsavory images in my head.
After that, headed to my cousin's birthday lunch at BF. It was a long, long table of relatives all gathered for some hearty Chinese food. I haven't had Chinese food in the longest; I welcomed its greasy, stomach-filling excess with zero hesitation. After which, my cousins and I decided to hang out at the nearby Starbucks to get some coffee, do some catching up, and more importantly, take advantage of the air-conditioning! Manila is a hot bitch right now, I'm telling you! I read somewhere that supposedly, this is one of the hottest recorded summers in Manila ever. Probably true, because the moment I step out from a very cold shower, I immediately start sweating. It's that hot! I am desperately craving for a cooler clime.
But whatever, we braved the heat after a cooldown at Starbucks, and went to Ruins to check out new DVDs. I bought a shitload today; I seriously have no self-control when it comes to things I love, and that includes films. Titles I bough: A Jihad For Love, Synecdoche New York, The September Issue, The Man Who Fell To Earth, In The Realm of The Senses, The Piano, Nouvelle Vague, Dancer In The Dark, Gentlemen Broncos, Bathory, Helvetica, Coco Before Chanel. I'm a happy little film skunk today.
Went home, and flopped on my bed. Here I am.
Going to watch Helvetica in a bit! It's a documentary about typefaces in connection to global culture, specifically about the proliferation of Helvetica, which is just everywhere. Spell interesting, please. I just love having all this time to myself, doing the things I love without worrying about anything. Thank you summer and pre-graduation lull before the actual ceremony!
Random thing: I listened to Watashi Kagami by Yasu maybe around, what, 10 times today? I really can't get over it. ♪ ♪ ♪ Same thing with Sleigh Bell's A/B Machines. Complete opposites when it comes to the genre and sound. I must be bipolar in this minute, random way.
